About Scuba Certifications Raleigh & All Things Raleigh Scuba Diving!

Sandra Clopp started Scuba Certifications Raleigh, a premier mobile dive shop and training center, to revolutionize Raleigh Scuba Diving with a unique teaching style that sets it apart from conventional methods. Our students master proper trim, buoyancy, and team/environmental awareness, learning to dive in a controlled, stress-free manner. We avoid outdated practices like skills on knees or uncontrolled descents, ensuring you don’t develop habits that need unlearning later.

Inspired by meticulous cave diving techniques, our training is influenced by some of the world’s finest divers, focusing on precision and safety. With Scuba Certifications Raleigh, you learn to dive with confidence and skill, not just to get certified. Our approach ensures a comprehensive understanding of diving, equipping you with the skills to explore the underwater world with ease and assurance.

Extraordinary Experiences

I wanted to spend more time underwater, so I started a scuba training facility called Scuba Certifications Raleigh, Raleigh NC. Since 2004, I’ve been divemastering globally and teaching since 2006. As a RAID and TDI Helitrox instructor, I teach over 20 specialties. My experience includes over 2,000 dives in diverse environments worldwide. These range from underwater photography in the tropics and local shipwreck explorations, including the Andrea Doria, to rebreather trimix technical diving reaching depths of 321 feet, cave diving to 277 feet, and ice diving beneath frozen landscapes.

My diving equipment is as varied as my experiences, including the Lungfish backmount & front mount rebreather, Kiss classic rebreather, Kiss Sidewinder rebreather, Hollis Prism 2 rebreather, the Hollis Katana 2, Hollis SMS 75, or X Deep sidemount rigs, backmounted doubles, or the Hollis Explorer rebreather. As a technical instructor, I emphasize proper trim and buoyancy control, starting from the very first pool session with Open Water students. This focus ensures that my students are well-prepared for any diving scenario, equipped with the skills and knowledge for safe and enjoyable dives.

FAQ

I hold my Open Water Certification confined water sessions on Sundays from 5-10 pm, but not every week. I accommodate the schedules of my students, finding a Sunday that suits everyone. For groups of 2 or more, I will arrange a confined water session on a Sunday that works best for you. For one person I need to find a class for you to join.

Yes, purchasing personal gear is necessary for your diving journey. Scuba Certifications Raleigh offers a full selection of high-quality gear for purchase. For more details, please visit our Open Water (Beginner) page where you’ll find a comprehensive explanation.

  1. Scuba diving is a gear-intensive sport, requiring high-quality equipment for a safe and enjoyable experience. At Scuba Certifications Raleigh, we understand the importance of reliable gear. That’s why we provide our students with top-of-the-line Hollis equipment, ensuring that the regulators offer easy and comfortable breathing and the Buoyancy Compensator wings function effectively. All our gear is meticulously inspected and serviced annually for your safety.
  2. Additionally, we provide tanks and weights, essential for diving in Raleigh. These tanks are filled with compressed air or nitrox, requiring a substantial compressor, which is a significant part of our Raleigh Scuba Diving setup. This compressor is regularly serviced and occupies a notable portion of our space. Moreover, the tanks undergo an annual visual inspection and are sometimes tumbled for cleaning, ensuring they are always in top condition for your diving adventures in Raleigh.
  3. Your instructor at Scuba Certifications Raleigh has invested heavily in learning to teach scuba diving effectively. Beyond basic skills, you’ll learn vital underwater survival techniques, including advanced streamlining, proper trim, and neutral buoyancy, often overlooked by recreational instructors. Our unique teaching approach, illustrated through engaging memes, emphasizes responsible diving practices, ensuring you don’t harm the marine environment and maximize your air supply for longer dives

Certainly, you can join our courses. However, as I’m affiliated with SDI and TDI, it’s necessary for students to complete the eLearning or Chapter Review questions provided by these organizations before I can teach you. While all these agencies cover material that conforms to international standards, each offers unique learning materials. I’ve trained with various agencies, but I prefer TDI/SDI for their exceptional educational resources.
