4 Open Water Dives over 2-days: $300/Day Plus Gear Rental Capped at $100/Day

RAID/SDI/IANTD’s 4 open water certification checkout dives are a crucial step in the scuba diving certification process. These dives provide hands-on practice for skills learned in the course, such as buoyancy control and emergency procedures. Conducted under certified instructors in real-world environments, like oceans or lakes, they ensure divers can navigate and enjoy underwater experiences safely. Successful completion indicates readiness for independent diving with a solid foundation in safety and competence.

Gear Requirements

When it comes to scuba gear, individuals are responsible for acquiring their personal equipment, which includes a mask, snorkel, fins, and pool booties. Wetsuits can be either rented or purchased. Scuba Certifications Raleigh maintains a comprehensive inventory of gear available for purchase and provides professional sizing assistance to ensure your comfort underwater. Scuba is a sport reliant on gear, and the importance of a proper fit cannot be overstated. We strongly recommend investing in quality gear from Scuba Certifications Raleigh, as not all equipment is created equal. You wouldn’t want a mask that leaks or fins lacking hydrodynamics, would you? For your confined water/pool sessions, we supply BCs, regulators, tanks, and weights as part of the package.

For the open water checkout dives, the majority of students opt to rent the Buoyancy Compensator Device, regulators, dry suit, and dry suit underwear. (We highly recommend the dry suit class, which can be added for an extra $100 when bundled with the Open Water course, or taken separately for $300. Alternatively, a 7mm wetsuit can be rented.) Tanks and weights are provided to students at no additional cost. We have pre-filled air tanks ready, and we will refill them as necessary during the two-day period required for the four open water dives.
